Frequently Asked Questions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are synthetic, silk or mink individual lash hairs that are applied to one natural eyelash hair that enhances the length, thickness and fullness of the natural lash. This technique is applied by a fully trained and certified professional eyelash design artist.

How long will they last?

This will depend on how well you look after them, however if you don’t look after them properly they may not last as long. This can be due to many factors from medical reasons, how well you treat your lashes, your sleeping position and what you use around the eye area that might interfere with the bonding agent. All clients are given an After Care form to ensure their lashes last as long as possible.

Are Eyelash Extensions harmful to the natural lash?

Short answer No. Not if the technician is a qualified professional in the industry using quality lash adhesive applied in the correct way and you follow the correct aftercare procedures. There are plenty of photos on the internet showing damage to the natural lash. Unfortunately, there are a lot of technicians without the necessary skills required or they are using the wrong type of glue. Make sure you check the technician’s previous photos and talk to their clients. Ask your technician questions and be completely comfortable and confident with them before going ahead with the procedure. Your natural lashes need to be healthy to start with, a good technician will not proceed if they think it will further damage the already damaged lashes and allow adequate time for the lashes to become healthy. Never ever, apply eyelash extensions yourself.

Does it take a long time?

It depends….. It will depend on how many lashes you naturally have, how many lashes want applied and how “full” you want the look to be. A standard full set of classic 70 LPE will take about 1.5 – 2 hours. 2D or 3D lashes can take up to 3 hours. Refills will take between 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on how many you want. Remember one extension is placed on one natural lash, this precision takes time to do properly. You don’t want to rush it! Rushing can lead to eyelashes getting stuck together or falling off too soon. Permanent damage can occur if things are rushed.

Will it hurt?

Eyelash Extensions should never hurt. In fact, many clients fall asleep! You will be laying down in a comfortable position where you can relax and enjoy the experience.

Are they expensive?

Don’t get me wrong, this is a luxury item. It’s in the same category as getting your hair done, your nails done or having a facial or massage at a spa. However, some clients find it saves them time and money. You no longer have to buy mascara or spend time applying eye makeup in the morning. There really is no need with eyelash extensions. Some clients are allergic to mascara and some makeup products so this a great alternative. Sometimes it’s nice to pamper ourselves.

*WARNING* Lashes can be addictive! You will love them THAT much.
